A day off...
watching some trash tv....kinda relaxing in a way.
I've had a few cups of coffee and cracked the window open to let in some fresh air. Smells like spring a bit which is nice.
My kitties are running around, so I think the fresh air is a good thing.
*sighs*
A bit scatterbrained....maybe it's a bit of spring fever!!

Sa-TA-DAY!...
it is.
But, I'm heading to work...It's an early shift, so it's not so bad.
*Drinks Coffee*
Really don't have much to say, but I will be going to a gig on Wednesday night, to see two of my fellow co-workers, since they have bands. Should be fun! It's been some time since I've been to a live gig.
I am also looking forward to Elbow's new album and curious about the Coldplay album that should be released in a few month's time.
I'll blog more later...;-)

An interesting forward...
I got this in an email forward from a family friend.
This family friend is also a masseuse(AN EXCELLENT ONE!)
I usually feel quite drugged after a session.:-p
How we met was a bit funny/cute.
Her son, Dean was in my E.T. 1st grade class, circa 1986-87.
I had long hair at the time and more often than not, he would be sitting behind me in class.
I guess he had the habit of playing with my hair and the teacher noticed.
So, in order for there not to be any weird issues, when parent-teacher conference were going on, my teacher
informed both our parents about the situation and if there were any issues with that.
I mean, heck I don't mind people playing with my hair, as long as they arent pulling it.:-p
So, that's how we all met.....,< warning:pun alert> the root of it all!
ANYWHO...here is the forward....I think it has a nice adage at the end.:-)
The Pastor's Ass
The pastor entered his donkey in a race and
it won.
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey
that he entered it in the
race
again, and it won again.
The local paper read:
PASTOR'S
ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered
the
pastor not to enter the donkey in another race
The next day, the local paper headline
read:
BISHOP
SCRATCHES
PASTOR'S
ASS.
This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the pastor to get
rid
of the donkey.
The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a
nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the follo wing headline
the
next day:
NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The bishop fainted.
He informed the nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey, so
she
sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:
NUN
SELLS ASS FOR $10.
This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the nun to buy back
the
donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run
wild.
The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The bishop was buri ed the next day.
The moral of the story is . . . being
concerned about public opinion
can
bring you much grief and misery . . even shorten your
life.
So be yourself and enjoy life.
Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and
you'll be a lot happier
and
live longer!
Have
a nice day!

Thinking....
hard on the idea of chopping my hair off.
If I do, it will be tomorrow, sometime.
I think I just feel the need for a change + less of a deal in messing with my hair in the morning.
It's been over 3 years since I went short and now it's pretty long(for me, that is)....

I will post pics if I do take the plunge!

RAWR...
hmmm, this is how i feel...
Do you ever feel demons(personal ones) that rear their ugly heads, pointing out your insecurities, and then you obsessively dwell on the fact that you are indirectly thinking a thought that isnt really yours to have?
Maybe it's a test. Maybe you're just bored?
Like with most things,
this too, shall pass.
The other day, went to south London and hung out with my friend Sim. We chatted, shot the breeze, had fish and chips, went out to Starbucks in Wimbledon, and did a little bit of clothes shopping! Good Fun.:-) It's nice having friends on this side of the pond.:-)
Here are a few pics!

Movies,...
that I would like to see still are as follows:
A Man in the Chair--
This movie has Christopher Plummer (The man acts everywhere!) in it and it's about a kid(boy) that befriends an old man living in a retirement area of Hollywood. The people that live here are past actors/tresses as well as crew. The boy then wants to make a movie, I believe for a class assignment and gets Flash(a nickname of the old guy given by Orson Wells on the set of Citizen Kane, for accidentally flashing the actors and crew with a lighting rig) involved as well as some other familiar faces of hollywood. I don't know the entire story, but it looks interesting and in a weird way, reminds me of Cocoon(with the Quaker Oats guy), with the pairing of the young and old in a movie. I hope it's a good one!
Across the Universe---
This particular movie is a musical of sorts in which a boy named Jude falls in love with a girl named Lucy. Across the Universe is a modern take on life and it's tribulations of love. I've seen posters of this movie on the walls of the tube stations a few month's back and since I am a Beatles fan, I only think it appropriate to see it.
Yes Man---
This story, created by the life experiences of Danny Wallace, was challenged by his friend Dave Gorman to say,"Yes, Man", to everything he came across for, I think, a year. It is to be released by the end of this year and stars Jim Carrey. A few months back, I was introduced to the concept of this book by a friend, Jess, so I still need to get around to actually reading it. And also, since I "own" the humour section at my store, I will be heavily promoting that book, along with his other titles.
The Lovely Bones---
Which should be released sometime this year or 2009, is based on a book I read by Alice Sebold in which a girl is brutally assaulted and killed by a crazy mad man when she is young. We then see from her point of view, life after she has passed away, how her family is affected by her death, as well as other really cool bits that come up in the story. Directed by Peter Jackson, I really hope that the movie proves to be just as good as the book.*fingers crossed*
Im sure there are other movies I would like to see, but this is what I can think of for the moment.:-)

75% Hillary Clinton
74% Chris Dodd
73% Mike Gravel
72% Bill Richardson
66% Dennis Kucinich

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz
I guess it's down to Barack or Hillary for me. I should read their proposed policies a bit closer now, although it might change once one of them gets into office.*shurgs*

ImAgiNe...
If you could, a defining moment(or moments) you have experienced in your life.
[/pause for reflection]
As for me, at the tender age of eight, I had the privelage in being introduced, by a family friend, to a book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. THIS book is The Secret Garden.
The main character that drives the book is a girl by the name of Mary Lennox. Coming from wealth and living in India, Mary is a tempermental and apathetic(with reason, really) young girl that often is taken care of by a Ayah(a nanny), dressed, bathed, the whole nine yards. Her parents rarely play a key role in her life, so it was no surprise when both of her parents died from the plague that she was left feeling unaffected and underwhelmed, or so it seemed.
The newly orphaned girl is then sent to Yorkshire, England to live with her hunchbacked uncle at a manor called Mistlewaite.
It is here, that it is up to Mary to discover the many secrets of her new home; such as the source of a crying child at night, a secret garden that is left unmaintained as well as under lock and key, and also a key to the garden that is found in her uncle's desk. This is truly a book about Mary finding a key to her own heart and happiness, as well as for those around her.
It is a story about discovery,
of growing up,
making friends,
nature,
and above all....
"MAGIC", which is the very essence and fabric of life.
The visual empathy found in this book is so immense, that if you don't come away feeling as though you too played a role in planting flowers in the secret garden or even absorbing a spring breeze into your veins, then you are probably alot like Mary at the beginning.
A definite recommended read for "child" of any age!
----------------
Now, this was a review that I created for work, but then after reading the intructions a bit more closely, I noticed we were only suppose to write up to 30 words, so I did just that:
The Secret Garden is about discovery, growing up, making friends, nature, and above all "magic", which is the very essence of life.
This book made me realize my own "magic".
----------------
The movie for this book that was released in the 90s was also pretty good. In fact, I might watch that now!;-)
Here's a link...Secret Garden Movie
Of course, the story line is changed, with her parents perishing in an earthquake, etc. but it's similar to the overall idea.
I remember watching this when I was 11/12 years old and thinking that it was pretty close to the visual stuck in my head.

Yesterday...
at work, I recommended a book that I have loved since a very young age.The requirement for this assignment(optional of course) was in 30 words or less to describe a book that had made a difference in your life. I ended up writing a small novel on it before I realized it had to be in not so many words. So, when it came to sending it away, I had to compact my review. I will post both versions here either later on today or tomorrow.
OH? You want to know what book it is? Well.....you'll see.:-)
Little did you know, I have the tendency write alot outside of my blog, so maybe on a lazy afternoon in the future, I will transcribe em here as well. It's kinda random and boring, since I just talk about my day and the normal motions that I go through in life, but I guess it's my life, which makes it unique, so I really shouldn't criticize. OY! There is the gemini in me. I sound so bipolar, but im not........i think.:-/
