some ego is good (hope i'm getting the point of your question). it can give one a sense of pride and power in one's self. too much ego can make you a dick though. as i recall, psychologically speaking, ego is connected a lot to how you view yourself. which we all know can be something far different than how others view you. now that that's over i'm gonna go comment on someone's boobs and make a fart or poop joke. acting smart gives me headaches.
I agree with how you view yourself can be different how people view you..
Talking from a bit of a superficialish kinda level, I mean, I remember when i was little and look at my face from a side prospective, and how different I looked to myself. I guess that can parallel a similiar idea...
Jen...Ego must be different from the soul or spirit. Ego, as i've learnt, is the collective consciousness of our body-mind-intellect and this is where our awareness is stuck at present. Soul or spirit is the real 'I', who witnesses all these but can't have a say until the awareness is unshackeled from the ego and transferred back to it. To do this transfer and realise that we aren't the tiny 'i'(Ego) but the unlimited Omnipotent 'I'(Soul)---that's everyone's journey. Saw jassen's blog but didn't like it much.
Vishwa-- Do you think that we are merely pieces of god, trying to figure itself out? Ive kinda had that idea for a while.:-S
And Jassen blog is in its early stages, but so far he finds that its a bit confining and doesnt allow for much creative inguinuity*sp and is trying to figure a way to do so.
