is the first day of the rest of your...haha....but really,
today is my 25th birthday! It's strange to believe that I am one-quarter of a century old.:-S
Birthday plans were fun and in fact started yesterday!
Jassen treated me to an aromatherapy facial which was quite nice and I think I made a new friend named Sam. She is a 20 year old that has been in the facial business for over 2 years now and really enjoys her line of work. Someday, she plans on opening her own salon up, so I wish her good luck!!
The facial not only included the mask and oils, etc...but also a 10 minute back massage AND hand massage. It was really nice.
I also convinced Jassen to have a facial as well, but it didnt take THAT much encouraging considering he was the one that introduced me to my first official facial last year(i believe it was)...so, after that, we went to Pizza hut and had a pizza buffet. I ate nearly 4 slices and was FULL UP!
I am born 153am central time in the states. So over in the UK, greenwich(pronounced gren-itch for some reason or another) its at 753am. Oddly enough, Jassen was born at 144 in the afternoon in the UK, but in central time, he was born 744am, so close in time in a criss-cross sort of manner(even though he is like 55 days older or so):-p
ANYWHO, after we came back home yesterday, we watched 2 episodes of star trek(since we recently got the new slim-lined versions of seasons 1&2 for the next generation), that is what we were up to! I kinda fell fast asleep during the 2nd episode, but I couldnt help it since I was pampered awesomely earlier on in the day.
For some reason, it is really hard for Jassen and I to sleep recently and it might point to the mattress that we sleep on. So, we may be investing in a pillowtop bit to make it somewhat more sleepworthy.:-S
The next morning, I woke up early again and then tried to regain my sanity by falling asleep for a few more hours. We ended up heading out at about 1130ish/12ish and got to Nando's(an awesome peri peri sauce chicken place that is portuguese in flavour) and had medium and lemon and herbs(erbs) chicken along with some chippies(fries)! It was wonderfully yummy for the both of us.*official FAN of Nando's*
After this, we tubed it on the Piccadilly line to Holborn. We were planning on hitching a ride on the central line to Tottenham Court but there was major congestion and blockage heading in that general direction so we decided to walk it from there.
1 thing I noticed today, and I swear to you, the Hare Krishna-ers were stalking us for a few hours. We would see them, going into a shop, be in there for a bit, head out, and there they were on the streets. As we started walking, the lot of them started to follow. Granted we were on opposite sides of the street, it still was a bit co-winky-dink-ish!(I have nothing against Hare Krishna ers and in fact find their chants and music quite jolly, but I know some people see them as a bit evangelistic in their ways):-p
But yea...Jassen and I needed the bathroom and wanted coffee, so we headed to the Starbucks, I got the caramel frap as usual and Jassen got a Java chip(his second try of this kind, which he enjoys). The barista didnt mix the drinks that well, so it was left in an icey end.:-S Such a waste..:-p
We then headed to Virgin Megastore and got 6 movies for a mere £32 pounds. These were:
The Wedding Crashers
Constantine
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Kung Fu Hustle
Liar Liar
and Dancing on the Inside
The only movie that I have yet to see is the last one, so I will let you guys know about that one, when I cross that bridge.
After this, we got some refreshments cuz at this pt we were PARCHED!!
Heading in the right direction, we stopped at the Apple Store on Regent Street and laid our eyes on our first MacBook Pro. It was awesome although, Im a bit weary on the width of it, being 13.3 and the glossy bit can be a bit annoying at first glance We had a play on the black version, which is slightly more expensive, but Jassen and I were a bit more impressed with the white laptop because the smudges and fingerprints were a bit less apparent than on the black laptop.
After this, we dropped in a Godiva chocolate shop and ended up getting a chocolate coffee frozen drink that seriously made both Jassen and I feel like and wonderful.
At this pt in time, we decided to head back in the general direction of home, because one thing that I wanted was a blanket that I can walk around the house with. We headed to a linens store and got just that! And its REALLY nice and warm! We hopped on the 144 and got home around 530ish.
Later, we then ordered some foods since we were hungry yet again! Also, Jassen got me the art print "I and the Village" by Marc Chagall, since it is one of my favourite art pieces because of the stories behind it as well as an art work that I did a presentation on in my art history course my senior year of university. YAYNESS!!
OVERALL, I had a most excellent day!
Hope all is well with you all!!

Oh..
POO PANTS!
That's my general consensus for the day.
The weather is reeking havoc on my sanity!!!
Spring and storms have been pounding the UK and my brain feels the pressure systems going up and down, Im drinking water and exercise, etc but I feel like it isnt helping much!!
The past few nights, both Jassen and I have been having issues with sleep and stirring around about 3/4am in the morning. I feel more sorry for Jassen because he has to go to work as opposed to me, so I think some green tea will do us some good tonight, so Ill brew the proverbial pot!!
My birthday is in a week...CRAZY!!!
I hope all is well with you guys!!

Da Da Da Vinci code...

In hopes of it being a good movie, I was gravely disappointed.
Overall, if I had no clue as to what the book was about, I might have kept a blind eye to this all and given a higher rating, but alas I had a marathan read of the book on thursday. After reaching about page 50 or so over the course of few touch and goes the past couple of weeks, I got through nearly 400 pages before the sun ducked out of the sky!
If at all cost, I read the book before seeing it's counterpart.
So all was good on the Saturday afternoon... ordered my cherry ice blast and sweet popcorn AND had my ultimate movie partner and companion with me(Jassen;-)).
I really was looking forward to the movie, so much that I was reading some fact or fiction cards that were found available in the hallways outside of the darkly screened rooms I was in.
Right away, as the cues that are stickered on the film signaled for the houselights to fade to its lowest setting, I snuggled in my chair and made myself at home, but something right away, I knew was askew...
Somehow, I could already feel the flow of the movie, slipping away from me like sand falling through the cracks of my hands.
It was at a fast pace, like someone drowning, trying to swim, but I treaded water never the less. 'It must get better than this!'--I remarked to myself.
Due to my keen abilities to allow myself to escape into the world of fiction, "suspended disbelief" it is so-called in movie terms, I felt the womb of this particular vessel already growing cold, its warmth that ive normally been accustomed to.
Tom Hanks, i believe was too much for the role. He is a great actor with many accolades, but they played out his character too smug with little material. What is juggling, but with one bowling pin?
Somebody shoot the screenwriter!
And Ron Howard! Where are you?
And Dan Brown, how could you produce and allow funds for something that was so unlike your book.
Where did your pt go?
Your exclamation has ran out the window, along with the proverbial dish and spoon!!
In movies, in mystery and suspense, it is suppose to TEASE the senses to the answer...it just doesnt come to you, like some sort of free omaha steak!
I felt that the tug and pull of arriving at the answers was not there. Barely, could you feel the thought processees of those involved, with the exception towards the end in the church where Sophia, Sir Teabing, and Langdon were at struggle. That was a cool effect and I wish they would have used more money in the effects or had taken more time to work out the riddles and rhymes as in the book.
The main twist in the book, drew like swords and pierced like daggers in my heart. It totally missed the mark on what was to be expected.
Sure, there is an ego that is created and established when one reads the book...
Of course, there are some things that should be left up to interpretation when there is an adaption to screen, but COME ON, they changed the ending and its relations.
Really this movie was on big piece of stinky cheese that even the french wouldnt ingest.:-p
I do have to say, on a positive note, that Mr Gandolf(Ian McKellan) did well for his role as well as Paul Bettany that played the albino. Miss Tautou did good for what she was given, but I felt at times, when things were suppose to be solved by her vein of logical thinking, the limelight was being fed to Hank's character in order for there to be a somewhat illogical balance in the whole scheme. Isn't this suppose to be a focus on women?
Damn, the irony. Maybe the screenwriter and director should have been female.

Good Afternoon!

It's been a little while since I've blogged, or at least feels like it when you are use to blogging nearly everyday.
I guess its just a phase, like most things, but I will try to blog more often, cuz really its my venting grounds and grounds for the exchange of thoughts and ideas, not only between myself and my life but other fellow bloggers.
It's funny, I was visiting Vishwa's blog only moments ago, and I do have to say that I was inspired to blog, even if what i speak of is a bit insignificant, etc....but at least I'm blogging, ya know??
So, yes,...what I have been up to as of late...Ive been studying up on Adobe Illustrator and now I am looking for a really cool Beatles pic to vector-up! Right now, there is a bit of a struggle for that, since I am a bit picky when it comes to which one I want to try first, but if I am unable to start on it today, I think I will sketch in my artbook instead.
Jassen and I have started something good for us, which is walking. We walked 4 miles yesterday! 1 mile was to pick up a few packages at the post office and to get some mcdonalds brekkie.:-p and then later on, we walked 3 miles to Enfield, did a little bit of grocery shopping and then got a drink at Krispy Kremes. I know..I know....the "prizes" at the end of our treks are not the healthiest of things, but hey, we pretty much burnt off our supper, building our endurance and stamina, and making our legs stronger...so, there are many more pluses than negatives.
While at Krispy Kremes, an older woman and her family were helping her into the store. My intial thought was my grandfather. I know,, how greedy of me, but the situation that was in front of my eyes, it just threw me back 10 years. My grandfather was a good guy. He lived with my family: my mom, dad, and sister, so he was apart of my life up into my high school years. I forgot how old he was when he passed but he was either 89 or 90, born in 1908 and died Dec. 3rd, 3 weeks before his birthday. He was rather healthy until he had a stroke. He walked everyday, everywhere, didnt have a licence, loved gardening, stamp collecting, the Cubs, his family, making things like shelves, and little debbies snacks!
The thing is, by blood, we werent related, but I thought so until about 14 when at the dinner table my Dad said otherwise. Apparently, my grandfather "adopted" my dad when he turned 18, because his real dad wasnt in the scene. Maybe not necessarily due to not wanting to be there, but because of other factors that involved my grandmother(also passed). So, somewhere out there, maybe still alive is my blood related grandfather. I call him the sperm donor that aided in my existance, cuz without that dude, I wouldnt be here like this.:-p
But yes, I found out that we werent related and it was a weird thing to digest. It didnt make me love him any less, but it was just one of those things.:-/ It is strange that he is gone, but I still feel him around. His energy is around.
*sighs*

ARGH!!

Sometimes I get mad at the fact that people don't seem to recall or listen to little requests that I have made along the way.
For example, I told people long ago, DO NOT give the kittens milk because they are lactose intolerant, so it isnt good for them. SO this morning, I go downstairs. What do I see?? A half drank bowl of milk. I have yet to find out if it was either the dad, the older brother, or the younger brother, but there will be an exchange of words.
In response, I made a little "note" that I might tack on the fridge or somewhere so people don't forgot the health concerns of my kittens.
*sighs*
I wish I had my own house.:-(
