Back from Glasto...

with alot of my plate!

First off, the 21st of June, Jassen and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary together by traveling to Glastonbury! For some strange reason or another, on the way there, we didnt seem to catch a glimpse of Stonehenge. I dont know if we were on a different road or what, but just didnt get the chance.:-S

It was already muddy and we changed into our wellies to battle the mud. It rained pretty much the entire time we were at the fest, with the exception of the sun coming out to make the mud even a more difficult task to waddle and wade through!

Here are the bands and acts we ended up seeing:

*Adjagas
*The View
*The Cribs
*Modest Mouse
*The Coral(sound like the Zutons and I think same producer)
*Annuals(i think)
*(Also a band in the Queen's head tent on the Thursday)
*Martha Wainwright(in park, heard her from sitting under a tree...sounded better than 2005)
*(Another band on the Jazz World Stage on the Thursday, but didnt catch the name)
*Arcade Fire(tail end)
*BJORK(She was awesome as ever!)

There might have been more on the friday, but Ill have to chat with Jassen to remember what exactly what!

Saturday-
*Liz Green
*Hayley Hutchinson
*The Pipettes
*Guillemots
*Paul Weller

And i think a few others, maybe, but we decided to turn in early, as we were quite tired. We heard from our tents though, Lily Allen, The Kooks, The Killers, Iggy & the Stooges, John Fogerty, and a few others.

Sunday-

*From Tent heard National Youth Orchestra
*Aqualung
*Sunshine Underground
*Polichinelle
*The Marley Bros present Exodus 30th anniversary
*From the tent Shirley Bassey
*Manic Street Preachers
*Moya Brennan
*KT Tunstall
*The Bootleg Beatles
*And overheard Kaiser Chiefs and The Who from the Acoustic tent(LOUD!)

There were a few other bands and acts I wanted to see, but in the end, the Mud was really the main act.:-/

Overall, it was an alright fest, with LOADS of walking, and I do mean hours upon hours of walking and standing...but 2004 will always be the best one....Saw Paul McCartney, Oasis, Groove Armana, Bright Eyes, Zutons,Keane,Divine Comedy, Doves, Elbow, and loads of other bands. 2005, the highlight was Coldplay, but I would have to go back to the lineup to remember who else, as my memory doesnt serve me well.

Now that I am back to some form of reality, I am gathering bits and pieces for my spousal visa I am applying for after the wedding as well as packing, organizing, cleaning....so much is ahead! I mean, when I get back to the state on Thursday Afternoon/evening, a few hours after that I am doing a final fit for my dress and veil. Also need to get in contact with my hairdresser and figure out wedding makeup.

EEK! Life is moving so fast.
