Last night...

we headed out to Brixton to come help celebrate a friend's birthday, Rup(also known as Rupert, Ru)!

We went to a place called The Prince which is really a skip and a half jump from the tube station(Brixton).

No sooner than did we make it in front of the KFC next to the pub, we heard a loud CRUNCH then a womanly scream. Laid before us on the curb, an older african man was in the street, things sprawled as a bus pulled away. I don't know if he was trying to make it across the street or he was stepping off the bus....it literally had me frozen in fear as to whether or not he had his leg run over.

He then got up with the help of 3-4 people that dashed to his rescue and it seemed like a dozen people whipped out their mobile phones to call the police. He waved that he was alright and I "THINK" that through all the commotion, it was his belongings being run over and he simply tripped between getting off the bus and hitting the curb. Of course, the bus driver gave two poos about the situation and didn't stop and continued on his way. Something tells me he will get reprimanded for this somehow.

Apparently, this happens alot around Brixton. I heard a story later in the evening, as we retold the story to others, and one time an older woman was stepping off the bus, the driver closed the door, as her leg got caught up and she was DRAGGED through the streets of London a short distance, people screaming and pushing the emergency buttons to stop, the bus driver NOT paying attention. So, folks, when in London, PLEASE realize that pedestrians right away, doesnt so much exist. You have to be weary!

Anywhoz, Brixton.... It isnt the friendliest of atmospheres, the people are a bit more dodgy, but I've been there a few times for the likes of concerts(Doves, etc.) After a few drinks(3 baileys on ice, a corona, and a chocolatety liquor), Jassen and I headed to kfc for 2 zinger meals. Here is what it looks like:

plus there were two small chicken wings, all with a bit of kick!

We ate this probably in 4 mins, which was a bit too fast for my stomach. This was due to the fact that it was past 11 and they were just doing take-away orders, no sit ins. So, we headed back into the pub, I had a red bull with vodka, and attempted another baileys, but that was my limit....I WAS SPENT!

Oh, and also not to name drop too much ;-p, I got to hang with a guy that is really good friends with Ricky Gervais(The Office, A Night at the Museum, etc.). Of course, I didn't realize this until the cab ride home, there was an aura about him that made me think of Ricky anyway.:-/ He was a deep person with a good sense of logic(Jassen is like that too, so they got along well) and lovely to chat with and you could tell that he really wasnt't a bullshitter, which was refreshing in itself.

Yea, so....we ended up pubbing from about 6pm to 1am in the morning, then made our way back home and arrived after 2am. It was nice to hit the bed. Jassen was OUT for the count only a mere few minutes as his head landed on the pillow.:-p

Backtracking a bit, I spent the majority of the day organizing Sam's room. Good news, he might be heading to Royal Free(for his kidneys) and then will be released 2 weeks after that! Unfortunately, I will be heading home a few days after that. Hopefully I can be there when he gets wowwed by his new room(old room painted, wardrobes put together, dresser built up, things organized, new carpet, etc etc and so on...) I've worked REALLY hard on getting things all awesome-like and have done the majority of the project, minus the knocking down of the old wardrobes, some scrapping and painting.

Tomorrow, Glastonbury Tickets go on sale...WISH US LUCK in getting a pair!!
Prices have gone up £20, but all in all, it's worth it....:-p

Dover Street....

the tale of a night-out!

Jassen and I went out to a leaving due for one of his higher ups, and we ended up going in mini-bus to central london to a place called Dover Street. It was in Mayfair and VERY posh and expensive:-p I ended up getting seared scallops, which were a bit fishy in a weird way. It tasted nice, but the texture wasnt that great. For the main course, I had Meditteranian Ratatouille, which was pastry like and tasted a bit like pizza. There were aubegines in em aka eggplant and I managed to eat half. Jassen had raw salmon(i believe with foie gras but left that to the side) and for the main course a really nice steak!

For dessert, we both had an Opera of Chocolate and Coffee. It was nummy but super filling. Alcohol-wise, I had a baileys on the rocks, and half way through my white wine, I was buzzing. Yes...I AM a lightweight. I have pictures of some of the food, but its on my phone, so I'll get to that a bit later. In the meantime, here is a few others...

Travis-Koko 20/3

Really, I should blog a bit more, but Ive been bobbing about London. Got a really nice shirt for £9.99 at H&M and I really like the style, so I might get more in the future. I also got some boots, compliments of Jassen that are really nice and warm.:-)

Jassen and I saw Travis at the Koko earlier this week. The show was good but the venue, I really didnt like the structure of it. It was a bit hard to see the stage at times, so maybe next time, different venue, et cetera. I am really hoping for them to perform at Glastonbury this year. Tickets for that go on sale April 1st, so wish us luck!;-) We had to pre-register between a certain time period, as so to deter ticket touts.

Okies....here are pics of the boyz!

On the book front...

I am trying to get in a bit of reading that has been put off due to shear laziness..

I completed book 3 of the Narnia Chronicles, which is THE HORSE and HIS BOY. It was a good book and I will continue to Prince Caspian(book 4) soon!

But for now, I am attempting to read WICKED by Gregory Maguire. I got a slew of books over Christmas(THANKS mostly to JASSEN for that). I'm on page 29 of 406 and I do have to say it is an interesting read, thus far. If I like this book, I will probably get the rest of the authors books(Mirror, Mirror,,Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Son of a Witch, and maybe Lost). We shall see.

I have also being playing the Original Zelda on Jassen and mine's Wii and all I have left to complete is the 9th dungeon. I never got half this far back in the day, so this is quite fun to try and accomplish things of past.

I was asked by my good friend Val to go and see Bjork in May, so if tickets are obtained, I will be jumping at the opportunity to go....Although in June, Bjork will be performing at Glastonbury(probably at the Other Stage(I forgot if they renamed it the John Peel stage or if I am confusing it with another))...:-S

On the wedding front, I believe there is something like 109 days until the BIG DAY....Still lots to accomplish, as I am starting on the ideas for the wedding program. I think for this, I will design it myself, and then just have it printed out on coloured paper. That should suffice.:-)

This weekend, I hope to sit down with Jassen and his folks to come up with a guest list for the UK. This really needs to get done, as so we know how much supplies to get for invites. Tomorrow, I may be heading out to Paperchase or some other stationary store to see whats out there.

Friday, Jassen and I will be heading out to Mayfair for a going away/send off for one of his managers at work. It is to be at a blues club, with entertainment, and the menu looks BEAUTIFUL, as a so-called Opera of Chocolate and Coffee will be the dessert. Yippie!

This is when Jassen and I went to a cricket match against Middlesex and Surrey. Surrey kicked some serious butt. It was fun to watch.:-p

Are you going to Scarborough faire...

parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme...

I love Simon & Garfunkel. Listening to the best of....I use to listen to it religiously when I would drive to and from uni. Although, I think the best times of year for it are spring and fall or a cold summer's night.

I have the heart of the 60s in me....

Often, I wonder what exactly goes on in the mind of my kits. Sometimes I know...and they know that I know.....other times....pure mystery wrapped in fascination.

And my lovely. And I'm sure he is probably trying to do what you all think he is trying to do. Gawd, I love him.:-p

We will be seeing Travis on the 20th. PUMPED! This is a first for me, plus they have new material coming out in April, with a single, and a full album, May 7th.:-)

Other bands/acts I want to see:

Bjork(might happen this year)

Stone Temple Pilots
Sarah McLachlan
Dave Matthews(with Jassen, since I have seen DMB once already)
Flaming Lips
John Mayer
and maybe U2 for kicks!

I miss...

my family more than I realize/realise at times.

So,...MOM! DAD! NICOLE!

I love you guys!

Maybe this is a few steps ahead of the game, but.....Jassen and I hope to have our own house in 2008, maybe sooner, so that will be no excuse when coming to visit. And yes, I will be home for Christmas.:-p

See you next month.

Haven't blogged...

in a bit....Felt like I should.

Sam is still in the hospital, running tests, trying to make him better. I hope that he gets to come home soon.:-/

Meanwhile...unbeknownst to him(if that is even a word and if so, spelt right!) we are renovating his bedroom. Ive already put together two dressers a beside table and will be putting two wardrobes together as soon as the room is re-carpetted and painted, etc. It will look nice once its done. I mean, heck, the furniture is IKEA and that is the best way to go!:-p

I have a splinter stuck in my right hand middle finger...so, that has been fun.:-/ Times like these, I need my dad to get the sewing needle out and pry it out....:-S

I managed to bathe Pepper this morning, so she is uberly soft at the moment and all purry!:-p

Well, here are some pictures dating back almost a month ago! I really need to keep on the ball here!!!

At a Garfunkels restaurant with a friend Iain. I ended up having the fish and chips, Jassen had some sort of burger, and I believe Iain had something veggie!

Nando's!!!

The chicken! It might have been have garlic, half mild, but I forgot! The serving size was massively though, as well as our bellies afterwards...:-p

Ikea in the morning!! Had the Ikea breakfast for 95p each(roughly under $2)

Sam Update...

Jassen's Dad, Sam is still in the hospital, slowly recovering.

The doctors are weening him off of sedatives and he is becoming a bit more cognant to things around him and us, which is most excellent. I believe they are also giving him less oxygen as so he can breathe on his own. He is on a slow-timed dialysis machine, so that is really uncomfortable for him at the moment and a bit itchy as well as tubes are coming out from his groin area. It also looks as though his kidneys are slightly working for him as well and is passing water a little on his own, which is a really good sign. There is the hope that they can get him back to how he was before all of this, if that is the case then that is excellent news for what it is.

There is still a way to go.

*sighs*

Actions speak louder...

sometimes......YOU be the judge.
:-p

ON March 1st......Jassen, his mom, and I dubbed the day BANANA DAY! So, I attempted banana pudding(FROM SCRATCH!) and Jassen's mom made these things that were cakey banana puffs, fried! Uberly good! Here are the results!

And of course, PICTURE TIME!!

*SMOOSHES!!*
