Say...
what you need to say....
Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put ‘em in quotations
Say what you need to say [x8]
Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead,
If you only could . . .
Say what you need to say [x8]
Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You’d better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again
Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open
Say what you need to say [x24]-John Mayer
The movie, The Bucket List, wasn't the greatest of movies. In the beginning, "The Bucket List" had a nice concept. It was about two guys meeting in a hospital ward, both whom are terminally ill, setting out to accomplish a list of personal goals before they die(or kick the bucket). Simply to say,it was not executed properly and became somewhat of a superficial story. Movie aside, I like the song. THERE! I said what needed to be said.:-p*dork moment*

On facebook, they have a friend wheel that can be generated.
I was thinking that no matter how the relationship is with a friend, be it close or more of a "friend- on- the-go", or aquaintance, and even a work buddy, it's crazy to think just how many people we come into contact in life.
Even if the initial spark of friendship doesn't last(or does), or attempted relationships fail(or succeed) or never get off the ground, we all make a difference(big or small) in each other's lives. I kinda see life as either a spiderweb or even bends and flows of a river, with rocks and plantlife in the water, or even spectators on the banks, maybe waiting to jump in at any given moment.
I like the idea, the prospect of making new friends in the future, where ever life will take me, and of course attempting to maintain the friendships that I hold dear now. And heck, you never know when someone from the past might make an appearance....life is funny like that....Biggest comedian of em all!!
Edging ever...
closer to my birthday. I do have to say I am a big fan of birthdays and I am not too bothered about the big 3-0 b-day in 2011....35 or 40......or 45.....or 50, etc. I think it's just a blessing to get that far and that it's a bit silly to fret about birthdays themselves. Strange as it may seem, I kinda see it more as a celebration for the parents, my parents.
Now, with birthdays aside, I do have to say, even though I might be painting myself into a corner of contradiction, 'I do fear getting older'. I guess it's because I have no control, with the exception of keeping healthy and happy. Do I make sense?
I love birthdays and the celebration of the time, but I fear getting older...Hahaha.....Well, I'm a laugh a minute! I find myself thinking about death alot more than I probably should. I've been like this for quite sometime. Maybe it was the revelation that family die and pass on.
My first experience of death was my Grandpa Ard. This was when I was only 7 years old. I knew that I wouldn't see him again, alive; I understood that much, but it just seemed so foreign and awkward. Then the year after, my Grandma Ard went, then a few years later, my great-grandmother Evelyn, then my dad's mother, a cousin named Michael, and my Paternal Grandpa, Frank.
Family friends passed in different threads of this tapestry of life and death, a few school friends here and there, and even a few teachers, from cancer, old age, and even suicide.
I know this post might sound a little morbid, but I guess.......It's just matter of factly, Life.
There is a song by John Mayer called, "Stop this Train", about one wanting to get off the train of life, cuz it just seems to go so fast. When the writer/songwriter is confronted by a family member saying, "Don't stop this train", it's life, you will see it through, and once you get to my age, you will gain a different perspective."
I suppose that is what I am waiting for and wanting...a new perspective that is reserved for age/experience.
In that case, I'll wait awhile more then....

Yesterday morning...
Jassen and I went to the movies!
Recently, we saw IronMan, and that's when my parents came to visit a little over a week ago. That was a really good movie and it is highly recommended.:-p
Anywho, yesterday we went and saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was a good movie, if you are into the whole Indiana Jones movies. Jassen LOVED it and felt it met his expectations of the movie and series. As for me, I think I will need to go back to the other 3 movies, since it's been sometime since having watched them.:-)
It's Bank Holiday weekend and I will be working today. The weather is a bit cold and damp, so that may or may not deter people. We shall see.:-p

I know...
that it seems like I haven't blogged in a while. Reason being was that my folks came from the states to visit, so I was really pre-occupied with that! I requested time off from work, as so I wouldn't have to work during their stay.
My parents had a bumpy start getting here, which was no fun for anyone, except the airlines. They booked Virgin Atlantic, which in turn got cancelled. They wouldnt have found this out unless my mom had checked the website a day and a bit before, cuz no one emailed or even called to let them know of the cancellation. So they called up Virgin, told to come in as usual anyway and they would get booked on a British Airways flight.
They got to the airport and to their surprise THAT flight was cancelled as well! So, they were sent back to the Virgin Atlantic counter who had them go to the American Airlines counter to book another flight. That flight ALSO was cancelled!!! So, at 5am in the morning I got a phone call from my dad, confirming that they had been cancelled 3 times and that they would be on the next flight out on VA. The airline put them up in a hotel and had them on the first flight out in the morning. The flight was for 8am but luckily left by 9am.
Out of all of this they were delayed 12 hours. This is 12 hours less time spent with each other, which is kinda sad since they only stayed for a little over a week. Hopefully they will be compensated in some way by the airlines for the lost time.
I will blog more on our adventures during the week soon.
Until then....

Eating...
some weetabix and drinking some coffee before I head out into the world, travel to work, etc.
There are a few authors coming into the store this month, so it should be a good one. I am still on a mission to get Danny Wallace into the store, if his schedule works. Funny guy, funny books, and I look forward to the movie,, "Yes, Man" when it comes out sometime next year.
My boy cat, Salt is meowing at me. I think he feels a little bored.
Alrightee...That's all for now.
