How Fragile are We...

We are...our bodies at least, but I do believe what is strongest is our essence, our being, our soul, our heart...So, fragile is alright. Make me think that our bodies are just illusions, so we can get over the fact that we are, we exist...just maybe for some sort of "physical proof".

Sometimes, I fear fading into the darkness, without making a difference in the world...but I know that fear really is just confirmation of my existance...invested belief in my being....

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, and she believes that every individual, although there are billions of people on earth, we all are unique unto ourselves, and that we all make a difference. If we live in a city, we are more in contact with people, and differences are in full bloom, but even if one lives in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere, their existance makes a difference, with or without the interaction. See? Hmm....

I agree with your friend's philosophy. I believe in a way that John Donne did, too. Remember?

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
